For me, the best song that transforms my mood if I’m feeling a bit vulnerable or fragile is definitely Read All About It Pt. III by Emeli Sandé. From the first time I heard it, I was hooked by the first four lines:
You’ve got the words to change a nation But you’re biting your tongue You’ve spent a lifetime stuck in silence Afraid you’ll say something wrong |
It just captured what I was feeling at the time and it made me look at life in a different way. It brought out an inner power in me and made me feel like I could achieve anything I wanted to if I put my mind to it. It wasn’t long after that my confidence started to grow, and I began to worry less about saying the wrong thing or about what people thought about me. There is something so powerful about a song that just captures exactly what you’re feeling at the very moment you’re feeling it.
Even now, if I’m having a bad day or need a bit of a lift, I stick this song on for guidance and encouragement and I’ll feel like a guardian angel is by my side helping me to remember that I’m not afraid and they can read all about it as there’s no need to be ashamed.
Tell me, what song completely transforms your mood and why?
Enjoy and stay musical.
